best grill tools

If you're looking for the best grill tools, you're in the right place.

Using the right tool for the job ALWAYS makes the job easier, and it's as true in grilling as it is in home improvement. Today, we're testing 8 sets of spatulas and tongs since they're the essential tools of BBQ, and spoiler alert, some are incredible, and some are hot garbage.

We purchased all of these tools ourselves, minus the Hexclad, which has been sitting around in the box for about a year from a previous test. We designed the tests we're putting them through to find the absolute best grill tools for the job.

Do you REALLY need more than a spatula and tongs?

In my opinion, the only grill tools you really need is a good spatula and a set of tongs.

The spatula should be strong enough to not bend, but not so thick that you can't slide it under your food.

The tongs should lock and unlock easily, open wide, and feel good in the hand.

In my opinion, all grill tool sets should only include those two items. Additional tools can be purchased separately by those who actually want them. But please don't make me pay for extra tools that I will never use.
